Description: What you'll be doing

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

 

The Commissioning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all commissioning activities to ensure that systems are installed, tested, and operating according to project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. This role requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality, functional systems. 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the commissioning team and exercises the supervision function at the level established by the management. 
  • Supports the owner's 3rd party commissioning agents across functions and sites, and external contractors, to deliver the project successfully. 
  • Reviews commissioning procedures, attends technical project review meetings (HAZOP/SIL, design studies, etc.); attends vendor workshop for acceptance tests and comments on shortfalls. 
  • Ensures that spare parts and the required materials are ordered in accordance with Sabey Data Centers requirements.  Ensures all operating/maintenance/vendor documentations are handed over to the Company as per project requirements. Initiates, reviews, and endorses amendments. 
  • Manages commissioning meetings with owner, CX agents, engineering, and project divisions. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the start-up schedule, controlling all costs associated with commissioning including labor and equipment and integrating activities with engineering, construction and commission activities and deliverables. Coordinates with SDC staff during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases to ensure achievement of targets. 
  • Commission Coordinator is required to be on site when 3rd party CX activities are being performed.  If unable to be present during CX activities the Commissioning Coordinator is to take necessary steps to ensure that a qualified person is present.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Ability to perform routine site visits and inspect, evaluate, and navigate construction sites safely and efficiently. 
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction. 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners – must be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships. 
  • Interface with technology and operate a computer. 
  • Adhere to Company information security policies and standards by safeguarding confidential data, protecting access credentials, completing all required trainings on time, and taking immediate action to report potential security threats or breaches.  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience in commissioning or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection. 
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC). 
  • Proficiency in using commissioning software and tools. 

 

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES 

  • Deep understanding of the commissioning processes. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the English language – excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners. 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and system testing. 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. 
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and project timelines. 
  • Must be committed to continuous learning and growing within the organization. 
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn and utilize AI tools and technology. 

 

 

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $114,460 - $171,689.
