What you will be doing: 

The coordinator, Business Attraction & Marketing provides project support for Greater St. Louis Inc.’s initiative to attract new companies, investment, and jobs to the St. Louis bi-state metropolitan region. The business attraction team at Greater St. Louis, Inc. markets St. Louis to generate new investment leads and provides follow-on services at no charge to the client to position St. Louis’ competitive advantages. Such services may include site location visits, customized market research, financial incentive assistance, and related support. Greater St. Louis, Inc. carries out its work in a collaborative manner with regional partners with the goal of driving inclusive growth by securing new jobs and investment. 

 

The coordinator is a critical role, assisting in the development, organization, and delivery of marketing materials and site selection services to Greater St. Louis, Inc.’s clients. The coordinator must have the ability to work at a fast pace, paying great attention to detail, with a focus on agility and the ability to balance multiple priorities to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will work with urgency and drive growth in our region, with special dedication to fulfilling the mission. 

 

How you will be spending your time: 

  • Assist in the creation of customized business attraction presentations and materials on the benefits of locating and conducting business within the St. Louis bi-state metro using established brand standards. 
  • When new collaterals are needed, work with the GSL communications team and outside vendors to build a project scope and timeline, coordinating across teams to complete the project as planned. 
  • Distill economic research and other information into compelling content that can be used in presentations and marketing collateral. 
  • Maintain and update the business attraction team’s existing library of marketing collateral and presentations as new information becomes available. 
  • Support the project management team on client site visits to the region, arranging transportation, meals, and assembling briefing materials for the client. 
  • Manage itineraries, vendors, and marketing collateral for domestic business attraction missions, trade shows, and events. 
  • Manage distribution lists of local economic development partners used to coordinate efforts on new business attraction opportunities. 
  • Help plan and execute quarterly meetings of local economic development partners, managing registration, event set up, and catering. 
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and year-end reports for the business attraction team and partners across the metropolitan region. 

 

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent experience. 
  • Two years of experience in economic development, marketing, or related business development preferred. 
  • Salesforce experience is highly preferred. 
  • Event planning experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. 
  • Experience with graphic design, photo editing, or desktop publishing software is highly preferred. 
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with great attention to detail. 
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities at once to meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce and deliver professional presentations. 
  • Works within established systems, standards, and procedures. 
  • Takes policies and procedures into account before making decisions. Seeks management support when necessary. 
  • Comfortable communicating job-specific knowledge. Communication is factual, formal, and sincere. 
  • Leadership is focused on producing consistent, accurate, and quality work. Leads by example, with a supportive, non-threatening style. 
  • Strong focus on agility. 
  • Dedication to fulfilling the mission.
