Description: What you'll be doing

Another Source’s client, Sabey Data Centers, is recruiting a Director of Power Infrastructure and Campus Development to join their team on-site in either Tukwila, WA (HQ), Austin, TX or Ashburn, VA. This position is a new position created to contribute to the overall success of Sabey Data Centers by managing and overseeing site selection, due diligence, development, and master planning. construction and development of critical support systems.

The salary range for this role is $118,548 - $183,749 depending on experience.

About the role:  

The Director, Power Infrastructure & Campus Development contributes to the overall success of Sabey Data Centers by managing and overseeing site selection, due diligence, development, and master planning. construction and development of critical support systems. This position also serves to procure utility capacity and manage the Advanced Procurement Program. The Director, Power Infrastructure & Campus Development works closely with both the Vice President, Engineering and Development and the Chief Technical Officer.  


Where you’ll be spending your time:   

  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills including planning, priority setting, multi-tasking, and conflict resolution. 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive property selection and due diligence strategy in line with the organization's goals and market trends. 
  • Identify potential development opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and assess the financial viability of projects. 
  • Identify markets where utility capacity exists and manage the procurement and delivery of this capacity. Determine technical and economic feasibility of alternatives to utility capacity (e.g., on-site generation). 
  • Manage substation and microgrid design. 
  • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, government agencies, and legal teams. 
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of high cost long lead assets required to meet company capacity development goals.  
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with development projects and implement strategies to mitigate them. 
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, demand, and competitive landscape to inform property development decisions. 
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and innovations in real estate development. 
  • Stay abreast of industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments. 
  • Embody Sabey core values.

  • Interface with technology and operate a computer 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners – must be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships 
  • Ability to travel to and from data center campuses 


Experience you will bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or related field. 
  • Experience (5+ years) in property development, with progressively increasing responsibility. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. 
  • Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate market trends, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Financial acumen and the ability to analyze project feasibility and financial statements. 
  • Engineering and mathematical reasoning skills  
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality
