The importance this role has in our organization:   

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for training and developing incoming and rising superintendents. This position also ensures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.  May supervise and coordinate various contractors to ensure contract compliance and will supervise and coordinate trade work.  The Superintendent will report to the senior project manager and on occasion, the managing director of development, general superintendent and the director of construction. 

 

Your contribution will likely be:  

  • Embody Sabey core values in the way you interact with co-workers and trade partners.  
  • Produces a comprehensive project construction schedule. Regularly update the schedule with subcontractor input.  
  • Advise supervisor of changes in the project construction schedule that significantly impacts project completion date. 
  • Prepares and maintains proper reports in accordance with company policies and procedures. 
  • Assures all layouts are correct. 
  • Coaches, trains, and develops superintendents and other construction personnel. 
  • Enforces safety policies and procedures are followed. 
  • Informs supervisor of any labor disputes and/or personnel problems that might affect the company. 
  • Supervises and maintains adequate and competent subcontractor labor crews.  
  • Schedules and coordinates activities of all subcontractors/vendors. 
  • Schedules the routing and delivery of all materials.  Assures all precautions are taken to prevent theft on job sites.

Experience you will bring to the team: 

  • Fifteen years of field experience in a position with supervisory responsibility in commercial construction with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or comparable work experience. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or P6.  
  • Ability to review construction documents for completeness and constructability.  
  • Ability to perform in a fast-track project delivery environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to coach and develop other employees.
