Another Source’s client, Sabey Data Centers is recruiting a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join their team in Tukwila, Washington

The importance this role has in our organization:   

This position is responsible for developing and managing the department’s compliance strategy to ensure the organization maintains compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and audits.   

 

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist (internally titled Sr. Compliance Specialist) reports to the Director of Operations Services, is a part of the Operations Services team, and supports the compliance efforts for the Sabey Data Center Operations department.  

 

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Ensure organization complies with relevant regulations and standards  
  • Identify organization’s compliance needs and develop strategy to implement any needed changes.  
  • Compliance Audits:  
  • Stay up to date with any compliance and regulatory changes.  
  • Continually review the organization’s business practices to ensure compliance.  
  • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, and annual audits.  
  • Coordinate with onsite operations representatives to provide material for audits.  
  • Coordinate with external auditors to complete audits.  
  • Mitigate non-conformities and continuous improvement.  
  • Reports audit results to leadership  
  • Policy Management  
  • Revise compliance program, policies, and procedures in response to changes in organization, laws, audits, and regulations.  
  • Assess and communicate how laws and regulations related to customer privacy and Information Security affect the organization and Information Security policy, procedures, and guidance.  
  • Develop, manage, update, and distribute documentation, including policies, procedures, and reporting, as well as assist others with document management.  
  • Develop and maintaining compliance training material.  
  • Coordinate and consult with other departments to ensure various program compliance.  
  • Works closely with the Director of Operations Services, Director of Operations, and all Operations Managers and teams.  
  • Interacts with and assists the SDCP business development team with items such as tours of potential clients, RFP support, customer lease compliance requirements, and customer requests. 

 

Your contribution will likely be:  

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Sabey employees, tenants, and vendors and the Sabey Leadership Team  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality  
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving  
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret technical documents, designs/blueprints, government regulations and legal documents.   
  • Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries from courts, regulatory agencies, auditors, inspectors and outside consultants.  
  • Protect the credentials provided to access Company (and customer, where applicable) networks, systems and data.  
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all Sabey Data Centers’ data that is accessible. Any suspected compromises of Sabey Data Centers’ proprietary data or customer data must be reported to Management immediately.    
  • Adhere to the Company’s Information Security Policy and Procedures and supporting standard operating procedures to protect Company systems and data.  
  • Alert management immediately with any expected system or data compromises and/or system failure impacting the security, confidentiality, availability and integrity of Sabey Data Centers’ and customer data.    
  • Required to attend an annual Information Security Awareness Training.    

 

Experience you will bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, a directly related field or equivalent work experience required  
  • 3+ years of experience in SOC 1, SOC 2, HIPAA/HITECH, PCI-DSS or ISO 27001 regulations and audits. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills  
  • Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, web browsers. Proficiency in other software a plus. Ability to learn other software, including the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)  
  • Positive, professional attitude  
  • Ability to work independently; self-motivation
