The Role 

As a CWM Paraplanner Portfolio Administrator, you will be in an entry-level client relationship management position that provides technical support for the Lead Advisor, Financial Advisor, and/or Registered Investment Advisor. Responsibilities include data gathering and research, preparing client reports, maintaining contact with clients to provide or obtain updated information, and troubleshooting problems. You will participate in client meetings but not in an advice or decision-making capacity. You will help support client relationships in a professional and personable way, and act as a liaison between clients, advisors, account administrators or other support staff, and firm custodians. (Please note that position titles vary among firms and may also be known as Support Advisor, Junior Advisor, or Para-Planner.)  

 

Your Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Deliver superior client service—troubleshoot problems; serve as liaison between the Lead and Financial Advisor, Account Administrators or other support staff, and clients as needed. Includes financial plan updates, portfolio changes and reviews, returns and new opportunity identification. 
  • Client relationship management, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications both verbally and in writing. 
  • Manage client information—prepare client reports, help develop financial plans, submit and follow up on necessary paperwork, and regularly update meeting notes and CRM. 
  • Attend client meetings in a technical, supporting and learning role 
  • Support investment team as needed; buy and sell securities as needed. 
  • Act as lead for our summer internship program, including interviewing candidates, managing scheduling, and teaching established financial planning concepts and activities. 

 

Your Expertise 

  • 2-5 years’ financial services or other applicable experience (preferred) 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)  
  • Series 66 (or 65 and 63) Securities License, Series 7 (ideal)  
  • State Insurance Licenses – Life and Disability (a plus)  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (experience with Schwab Institutional or Junxure a plus)  
  • High degree of customer service skills and a “client first attitude”  
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities and manage time effectively  
  • Adaptable; Able to multitask and prioritize a variety of activities  
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills  
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality  
  • Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others  
  • Desire and ability to work successfully in a small company environment 

 

Your Salary and Benefits  

  • Your Salary will be based on experience. 
  • Your benefits will include health care (100% employer paid medical/vision), a health savings account (HSA), disability insurance, and 401(k) with a 4% employer match.  
  • Paid time off (PTO) including 9 paid holidays (includes a paid day off annually for your birthday) and increasing accrual time of PTO from 12 days to 22 days. 
  • Some work flexibility in terms of hours and location
