Another Source’s client, Sabey Corporation, is recruiting a Revenue Accounting Manager to join their Accounting and Finance team in Tukwila, WA.

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for all of Sabey Corporation’s, and its affiliates, lease accounting, related transactions and administrative functions.  This includes responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the property management ledger and tenant files for all Sabey related entities.  A list of the primary responsibilities of the position follows; however, other reasonable duties may be assigned by the Controller if deemed necessary. 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee all lease accounting and administrative responsibilities and processes 
  • Document, communicate, and implement standard procedures for lease accounting related functions 
  • Make recommendations to enhance existing systems as necessary to help identify, create, develop, and deploy new tools and reporting capabilities to increase efficiencies, accuracy, and transparency across all areas of the company.  
  • Call on delinquent rents, prepare late rent and/or default letters for delinquent tenants 
  • Review Lease agreements and Amendments confirming accuracy in lease setup, 
  • start and termination in accounting system 
  • Review monthly rent roll for accuracy 
  • Review accounts receivable schedules and accounts receivable aging/collection reports 
  • Monthly review of tenant rent, tenant extra’s and tenant specific bill backs 
  • Assist Property Management in the preparation and review of additional rent 
  •  and tenant specific charges   
  • Review monthly accounts receivable related journal entries for accuracy and current applicability 
  • Manage and prepare rent commencement and rent step correspondence to tenants in a timely manner 
  • Schedule, prepare and lead monthly accounts receivable and lease status review meetings with the CFO and Controller 
  • Prepare and provide all revenue related support for annual operating budgets and quarterly reforecast 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly and annual tenant reconciliations and audits 
  • Prepare and reconcile GAAP straight line rent adjustments 
  • Assist in preparation for year-end independent financial statement review and audit  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team 
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or a directly related field 
  • Real estate lease accounting experience required 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a directly related field  
  • Strong mathematical reasoning abilities – must be able to make sense of complex accounting systems and processes 
  • Advanced knowledge of full cycle accounting 

 

PREFFERED COMPETENCIES 

  • Proficient in Yardi – must be able to access lease administration, charges and receivables, and set up sections  
  • Working knowledge of lease accounting under ASC 842
